The State General Provident Fund (SGPF) and Contributory Provident Fund (CPF) subscribers will get interest rate of 7.8 per cent for the period July 1, 2017 to September 30, 2017. This was decided in a Cabinet meeting chaired by CM Raman Singh at the Mantralaya here.
Notably, the Centre has fixed 7.8 per cent rate of interest on General Provident Fund and other funds.
The Cabinet meeting decided to empower the Finance Department to fix the same rate of interest as announced by the Centre.
The Cabinet decided to delete the Suth Sarati-Sahis/Sahees castes from the category 65 of the Backward Castes as per the recommendations of the State Backward Castes Commission.
