Vehicular movement on several roads in the city will be restricted on Sunday from 7 am till dispersal of the parade on the account of Republic Day celebrations which will be held at Police Parade Ground, informed a senior official of traffic police here on Friday.
Movement of all kinds of vehicles will be restricted on road connecting Mahila Thana, Motibagh Chowk, Shashtri Chowk and Collectorate via Khajana Chowk from 11.45 am till the time the parade reached Collectorate premises. Parking of vehicles will not be allowed on road connecting Mahila Thana and RI Gate Pensionbada Chowk, Sidhhart Chowk to Kalibadi Chowk, PWD Chowk to Police Parade Ground. “We appeal the citizens to opt for alternate routes on Sunday to avoid inconvenience,” said Additional Superintendent of Police (traffic) Balram Hirwani.
Movement of buses on Rajim-Dhamtari road will be restricted from 7 am on Sunday till the time the crowd disperses. Also, the vehicles carrying diesel, petrol or other inflammatory items will not be allowed on the road between the above mentioned period. Students and public in large numbers are expected to attend the function. The traffic department has also made elaborate parking arrangements for Sunday’s event.
Parking for different types of vehicle is arranged at St Paul’s School Ground, Skating Ground, Boodhatalab Parikrama Road.
