Server restored, CG PET-PPHT 2019 dates soon

Published on:

Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board, Raipur (CG VYAPAM) will be soon declaring the date for the Pre-Engineering Test (PET) and Pre-Pharmacy Test (PPHT) which was postponed due to server problem. As per information, the server functioning has been restored.

The tests were supposed to be held on Thursday in two sessions.

According to reliable sources, the Chhattisgarh Infotech Promotion Society (CHiPS) upkeeps all the government related websites and provides the server.

The server requires around 16 to 17 degree centigrade temperature to keep it working in normal condition, for which precision air conditioning (PAC) system is used.

As per sources due to gas leakage caused by technical fault, the PAC system became ineffective in cooling, which led to heating of the server.

Sudden rush of traffic as PET/PPHT candidates started downloading the admit cards further aggravated the problem, resulting in shutting down of server. When re-started it was found that all the data in the server has been corrupted.

Sources revealed that there was no data loss as CHiPS keeps back-up. All the data was transferred to new server.

Meanwhile, regretting the incident Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Wednesday itself ordered concerned authority to issue show-cause notice to around eight officials of the CHiPS, including its chief executive officer and CGVYAPAM.

Chief Minister assured the students that his government would ensure that such incident was not repeated.

The CG VYAPAM in a statement issued on Wednesday late evening stated that entrance examination for PET and PPHT was scheduled to be held on May 2 in two sessions but due to server problem, many candidates could not download their admit cards.

In coming days, after fixing of dates, the candidates will be re-issued admit card based on new schedule.
