To ensure maximum participation of voters in the upcoming urban body polls, the district administration will organise special camps wherein functioning of EVMs will be demonstrated.
Chief Executive Officer of Surguja Zila Panchayat and Chairperson of SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) Committee, R Ekka has ordered concerned officials to send bulk SMSs to the voters. The project officer, public instructions committee Surguja will release group SMSs on December 22, 24, 27, 28 and 29. Similarly a signature campaign has been scheduled on December 23 and 27 for motivating the voters.
likewise on December 27 a rally of students led by their principals will be held. Representatives of various NGOs shall also take part in the rally. Similar rallies have been planned in Ambikapur, lakhanpur and Sitapur blocks of the district. Further on December 27 and 29 under guidance of district project officer public instructions committee Ambikapur, messages of district returning officer will broadcasted from Akashvani center Ambikapur and also on local cable channels. The officer would also use social media sites like Facebook to promote maximum participation in upcoming civic body elections. Officers have been asked to submit audio-visual records of these programs with office of the project officer public instructions committee.
