Despite monsoon swelling rivers and rivulets of Bastar division, security forces fighting insurgency are getting success against all odds. They not only made a group of aggressors take to their heels and recovered a self loading riffle, but also arrested president of Jantana Sarkar in separate operations.

In Dantewada district security forces made a group of Maoists flee after a brief encounter and recovered a fully loaded self loading gun left by insurgents. According to Dantewada Superintendent of Police Narendra Khare, after getting a tip off that Maoist insurgents including some top leaders were moving in Kotameta Hills located between Kirandul and Aranpur in their bid to execute some major subversive act during their martyrs week, a team of security forces comprising district police and CRPF was dispatched to the area.

After sensing the presence of security forces, Maoist insurgents attacked the team at Hiroli Nullah near village Gumiapal. However after a brief encounter, the insurgents retreated in to the nearby jungles. On search, the security forces recovered a loaded ‘bharmar’ gun from the spot. No casualty was reported on either side. Meanwhile, Narayanpur district police succeeded in arresting the chief of Jantana Sarkar Puran Poyam in a raid on his hideout located in jungle. He was allegedly involved in a number of criminal cases.

Narayanpur Assistant Superintendent of Police Neelkanth Sahu said on a tip off, a joint team of District Police and Chhattisgarh Armed Force had left Dhanora Thana for conducting search in Rayanar forests. During the raid, the team succeeded in arresting Puran Poyam (40), son of Hunga. He was chief of Janatana Sarkar of 10 villages including Rayanar and was involved in dozens of violence cases in the area. The ASP lauded the efforts of security forces who despite adverse conditions created by Monsoon, are conducting searches and are getting success as well.
