South East Central Railway (SECR) will hold a massive Pension Adalat to redress grievances of retired employees and officers of the Railways on September 15.
According to sources from the Railway, the Adalat would be held in all the three divisional headquarters of Bilaspur, Raipur and Nagpur, besides Wagon Repair Shop Raipur, Motibag Workshop Nagpur and General Store Depot Raipur. Officials of all the subsequent departments will resolve the problems of retired staff and their families.
The sources said, the retired Railway staff and the families of the deceased staff members, who sent representations to the divisional office concerned in response to the notification issued, but have not received any communication so far can attend the Pension Adalat for redressal of their grievances.
They also said that the objective behind holding the Pension Adalat was to examine and redress the grievances of pensioners by taking on the spot decisions and to obviate delays, if any, in the settlement of their dues. Such a step would go a long way in instilling a sense of being cared for and attended to in the minds of pensioners and thus dispel their feeling of neglected. The Railway sources said that pensioners and family pensioners have to submit their grievances along with supportive documents and lodge their claim with the Adalat regarding non-payment of settlement dues.
The Railway administration has appealed the pensioners to represent their grievances with the senior divisional personnel officers of Bilaspur, Raipur and Nagpur divisions and the personnel officers of Wagon Repair Shop Raipur, Motibaug Workshop Nagpur and General Store Depot Raipur within the time frame to take up their cases. Besides individual pensioners and family pensioners, the officials will also consider representations from the Railway Pensioners’ Sewa Samiti (RPSS) for redressal of grievances.
The sources said that the applicants have to submit copies of their service certificate, Pension Payment Order (PPO) and other relevant documents of their superannuation.
However, applications representing policy matters or sub-judice in any court or involving legal implications or dispute or clarifications pending in Railway Board and Pre-2006 and Post-2006, will not be heard by the Pension Adalat.
The applicants would be intimated in advance to attend the Pension Adalat in person to settle their grievances, the sources added.
