SECR Nagpur clinched the title of 4th All-India Invitation Football Tournament-2014 by defeating host DFA Narayanpur by 3-2 goals in a thrilling final match played at Naxal-hit Narayanpur here on Saturday.
The tournament was organized under aegis of District Football Association, Narayanpur in association with Corporate Social Responsibility Department of the Bhilai Steel Plant. The Chief Guest on the occasion was SP Narayanpur- Amit Kamble while Deepak Kumar Banjare, DGM (Rowghat Project) presided over. SP Paikra-DFO Narayanpur, Swami Anubhanand, Assistant Secretary Ramakrishna Mission Narayanpur and DK Joshi, DGM (Rowghat) graced the occasion as special guests.
Earlier in the final match, both the teams exhibited their best sporting skills but OS Khan of SECR Nagpur scored the winning goal for the team. He was awarded Best Player of the tournament.
Chief Guest and other dignitaries awarded the winner SECR Nagpur team with a cash prize of `61,000 and Trophy while the runners up DFA Narayanpur team with `31,000 cash and trophy.
