Search conducted in scrap dealer premises

Police on Wednesday morning conducted search in the premises of scrap dealers situated in Moudhapara police station. This is being believed one of the biggest raids conducted by Raipur police in which, large number of police jawans took part.

Additional Superintended of Police (city) Dr lal Umed Singh informed that action was taken on the directives of Superintendent of Police Raipur OP Pal.

Meanwhile police sources informed that action was taken after several complaints were received that stolen vehicles were being dismantled in some scrap dealers in Maoudhapara and later their parts were then sold in market. Several new parts of two and four wheeler vehicles were found in these yards, sources revealed.

Police sources informed that the search begun on early Wednesday morning after the parade of police personnel, which created panic in the scrap dealers and residents of Maoudhapara gathered around these yards in large number. However seeing heavy deployment of police force anyone could not protest.

Sources informed that large number of body parts of new vehicles were found in the scrap yards, but the engine and chassis numbers were missing, which leads to the suspicion that the those parts could be of stolen vehicles. Police has sought replies from the suspicious scrap dealers in this connection, sources said.
