The scrutiny of nomination papers for the post of Mayor and Corporators in Raipur Municipal Corporation would be held on December 16 from 10 am onwards, officials said on Saturday.
The nomination papers filed for the post of Mayor will be checked first then scrutiny of nominations for corporators will be held. The two-phased polls for urban bodies to be held on Dec 29 and Dec 31. The scrutiny for nomination papers will be carried out in room number 2 of collectorate. A meeting of officers in this connection has been called by Collector and district returning officer on November 15.
On November 19, the district returning officer will address a meeting of all candidates and where they will be inform about election process. Notably according to civic body election program released by Chhattisgarh State Election commission, polling will be held in all 70 wards of Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC).
By December 13, so far 20 nominations have been filed for the post of Mayor while 215 nominations have also been filed for Corporator in 61 wards.
Meanwhile training of officers participating in polling of first round will be held on Sunday. In all 1950 officers will be trained by sector officers and master trainers.
This training will be held at Government Dudhadhari Bajrang Mahila Mahavidyalaya. Power point presentation and lCD screens would be used for training, officials informed.
