On the second day of ‘National Workshop on Operation and Maintenance of laboratory Equipment-2015’ (NWOMOlE-2015) at Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University here, participants were given training to use Microscope, Telescope, Ph Meter and power supply equipments. KK Mahajan, the Program Co-ordinator of Western Region Instrument Center (WRIC) and AN Rao presented special lectures.
Several equipments which were dumped due to some malfunctioning were made functional by experts during the workshop. Three Ph meters in chemistry lab, two spectro-photo meters and nine microscopes in biology lab and three spectro-photo meters kept in pharmacy lab were repaired during the workshop. KK Mahajan while training the participants said that it is better to take proper care of instruments instead of repairing them.
He trained two students to repair lab equipments. In a parallel session, AN Rao detailed about Ph Meter and conductivity meter. He informed the participants about ways to maintain Ph Meter and different kinds of solutions used to keep it clean. In the afternoon session, Devendra Gunde of WRIC instructed about techniques to fix problems in cathode ray vibration magnetometer. lecture on calibration of microscope and telescope were also held.
