Small school children in Chhattisgarh would soon get an opportunity to read about the life and times of martyrs from the State who gave up their life in defence of the country.
The State Government had started preparing an Action Plan for implementing the initiative.This apart, a Memorial would be constructed in the memory of the martyrs.
A comprehensive discussion on preparing the proposed Action Plan took place in a meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Sunil Kumar at the Mantralaya in Naya Raipur on Thursday.
While speaking at the meeting, the Chief Secretary said that youth would able to take inspiration from the life of the martyrs through the Memorial.
A light and Sound Show had also been proposed at the Memorial. This apart, the life sketch and important incidents in their lives will enliven the atmosphere, he stated.
The life sketch of the martyrs would be included in the text books for various classes by the NCERT so that children take inspiration from their martyrdom, Kumar said.
The Chief Secretary also directed that the documents related the martyrs be digitized for which the details of the personnel of CRPF battalions who achieved martyrdom would be collected while the suggestions of their kins would also be taken. It may be mentioned here that there is a plan to contruct the Memorial in an extension of the ‘Shaeed Vatika’ land in Raipur.
