To spread awareness on the relevance of water usage among the denizens, Raipur city Mayor Pramod Dubey and Academician Jawahar Surisetti started the ‘Nadi se Nal tak’ (From River to Tap) scheme for school goers on Friday.
The scheme was launched from Rungta International School premises wherein around 30 students participated when students were taken on an educational tour later.
The students were shown the process of water transfer from the river to the filtration plant and then to the homes in this educational tour. Notably, the purpose of connecting the school students with the scheme is to spread the social message of stopping the misuse of water.
It is for the first time schools are being covered for such a purpose. Officials said the initiative will continue till the month of April this year.
