School children presented a colour filled performance full of tradition and patriotism during the state-level Independence Day celebrations held at the Police Parade ground here.
The cultural programmes on the occasion comprised a wide array of folk songs and dance performances. This was also the first time that division wise performances were held during the Independence Day celebrations in Raipur. The children of Bastar Revenue Division received the first prize for their cultural performance. The children had presented the cultural traditions of the puja performed for Ma Danteshwari and Anga Dev through their regional folk songs and dances.
The children of both Raipur and Bilaspur divisions jointly received second prize who had presented patriotic songs and folk dances of various States. The spectators also appreciated the cultural performance presented by the children of Sarguja division.
