Padmini Shukla, wife of a three-time Chief Minister of undivided Madhya Pradesh Shyama Charan Shukla, died here on Saturday. She is survived by three daughters and lone son Amitesh Shukla, who is a Congress legislator from Rajim seat.
The state unit of Congress has condoled her demise and recalled the contribution of Shukla family and her role in development of Madhya Pradesh as well as of Chhattisgarh. Chief Minister Raman Singh has also condoled the death and said he had enjoyed Rs affection’ of Padmini Shukla. Congress treasurer and senior party leader Motilal Vora has written a letter to Amitesh Shukla and condoled the Rs sad demise of his revered mother’.
Shyama Charan Shukla had died in February 2007 at the age 82 while his younger brother VC Shukla who was a nine-time Congress MP had succumbed to Maoists bullets in an attack in restive Bastar this year.
