Savitri Manoj Mandavi took oath on Monday as a new member of the Chhattisgarh assembly, elected from the Bhanupratappur constituency. Speaker Dr Charan Das Mahant administered her the oath.
Savitri is the wife of Deputy Speaker Manoj Singh Mandavi whose death as the Congress MLA from Bhanupratappur led to a by-election. She took oath in Hindi and in the name of God.
Speaker Mahant and Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel then congratulated her.
