A day after Raipur Development Authority (RDA) received the State Government’s nod for developing a residential township next to Kamal Vihar Colony, the residents of ‘Sarona Itta Bhatta’ locality raised their demand of implementing an appropriate ‘City Development Plan’ for overall development of the area.
A delegation of Sarona residents led by Kanhaiyalal Chugani met the Housing and Environment Minister, Rajesh Munat and apprised him about their demands.A memorandum was handed over to Munat by the delegation read that there are 25 families owning 600 acre lands in Sarona Itta Bhatta and they all have agreed to give their lands for a scheme like Kamal Vihar Colony, if the government takes interest to develop a colony there.
The delegation members also drew the minister’s attention towards 125 acre government land available here to be included under the development plan. The minister later guided RDA Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Amit Kataria to hold a discussion with the delegation members in the matter. The delegation members informed the officer about having the Railway station, Ring road number 1 and All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Sarona, which makes it a suitable place to be developed as a residential township. They urged Kataria to get State government’s approval for the project.
To this, the CEO assured the delegation members of studying all the facts and taking an appropriate decision in the matter.Notably, the State government on Monday gave in-principal approval on RDA’s proposal of developing a township by including lands of Dumartarai, Devpuri, Amaldih, Fundar, labhandih and Jora village by implementing an appropriate City Development Plan.
