Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Saroj Pandey has made an impassioned appeal to the people of Berla to vote for the lotus to strengthen the hands of BJP’s designated prime ministerial candidate Narendra Mondi here on Friday.
The local population accorded her a grand welcome garlanding her as a gesture of their love. Recalling her contribution to the state, she said, it was her effort that forced the state government especially Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh to declare Bemetara as a separate district.
Similarly, she said as part of her effort to connect Bemetara with rail network also began to yield result with opening of railway counter there and other allied services. According to her, she had a long list of services and developmental projects initiated in the state following her effort but stopped short of repeating them.She, however, assured them that she would be always with them for taking up and addressing issues of importance to them.
She also castigated the Congress for not doing anything for the region even after being in power for more than five decades. When she entered Ghatiyakala village, a local woman Sharada Verma offered her a coconut and welcomed her to the village, while another woman blessed her for victory. local MlA Avdhesh Chandel who accompanied her said she was a workaholic and people friendly leader who would work for the development of the area and urged them to vote for her.
Prominent among who joined the campaign included district BJP president Rajendra Verma, general secretaries Dilip Patel and Vikasdhar Diwan, Zilla Panchayat member Reena Sahu among others.
