BJP candidate for the Durg lok Sabha seat Saroj Pandey commenced her people-contact programme here on Thursday after seeking blessings at Ma Chandika temple in the constituency.
later, Pandey went to Panchamukhi Hanuman temple, Kankaleen temple, luchki Chowk localities and later also walked from Gujarati Dharmashala till Takiyapara in the city.
The members of the BJP Mahila Morcha wing who were moving along with Pandey applied ‘mehndi’ on the palms of the residents of various localities. While moving in a rally, the BJP candidate told the gatherings about the performance of the Congress-led UPA rule which she stated was corrupt. She said that the Congress party’s ministers are concerned only about their own development and not that of the country.
Corruption in the Congress party made many of its ministers getting jailed, Pandey said, adding, “Congress has a history of corruption. It is time the Congress was removed from the Centre to eliminate poverty.” Pandey later also visited many other localities in her constituency.
