Under leadership of Minister in-charge of the district T.S. Singhdeo, a massive plantation drive was carried out along Mahanadi river at Sinodha village of the district in order to save the water body from land erosion.

Around 8,000 saplings were planted in the drive in around 18 acres of land and Singhdeo himself contributed in the drive by planting saplings.

Speaking on this occasion, Singhdeo underlined the need of protecting trees in order to save the environment. Apart from providing oxygen from breathing and food material to eat, the trees are also needed for a good amount of rainfall, he said.  A large number of local citizens from all walks of life from        children to elderly persons also contributed in the plantation drive.  Singhdeo querying about the well being of the citizen happily lifted children and enjoyed the moment. He also advised the children to work hard for    achieving success.
