The police custody remand of Sanjay Bajpai was extended till June 26 on Saturday. Police would now produce Bajpai in court on June 26 by 4 pm. This is for the second time that police custody remand of Bajpai has been extended.
Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Dr lal Umed Singh informed that police had requested the custody remand of Bajpai for questioning him in separate case of land grabbing registered with Gole Bazar police station. Police so far has not been able to arrest his wife Dr Sarita Bajpai who is a co-accused in the case.
Meanwhile sources in the police department informed Bajpai has been constantly refuting charges levelled against him but the records on paper are establishing a complete different picture.
Notably the Bajapi has been accused of grabbing about 90 hectare of government land in Kamal Vihar scheme at Dunda, Sejbahar and Boriyakala villages. The FIR against Bajpai was lodged on recommendation of a committee headed by CEO RDA Alex Paul Meneon. The Joint Director, City and Village Investment Directorate Zahid Ali was also suspended on the basis of findings of committee.
