The name of Saint Ravidas is taken with reverence because he told people to live with equality, said Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Sunday.
He said Ravidas called work as worship and that no work is small, he said addressing a conference of the Chhattisgarh Mehar Samaj on Mahadev Ghat Road.
The Chief Minister pledged to rename a chowk in Naya Raipur after Ravidas and Rs. 5 lakh every year to celebrate his birth anniversary.
Baghel blessed four newly-weds. Six people of the society were felicitated with Meher Ratna.
