The Chhattisgarh cabinet on Wednesday gave a nod to the proposal to continue the five-year age relaxation in government recruitments for bonafide residents of the state.
The relaxation will be effective from January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2028, a senior official said.
At present the maximum age for a candidate is 35 years. This has been upped to 40 years.
The maximum age limit for candidates in reserved category inclusive of all relaxation would not exceed 45 years, the cabinet decided.
The age relaxation will not be effective for recruitment in the home (police) department, the official said.
The cabinet also okayed forming a committee to take back purely political cases from the judiciary.
A cabinet sub-committee will now decide taking back police cases filed against persons for staging political protests, the official said.
