Minister of Home, Public Works, Jails, Religious Trusts, Tourism and Gariaband district in-charge Tamradhwaj Sahu on Friday called for expediting Covid-19 tests every day.
The Minister made the appeal while reviewing via video conferencing the development works being carried out in the district.
He ordered the implementation of all departmental schemes in a time frame and disciplined manner without compromising on the quality.
While praising the Godhan Nyay Yojana scheme to strengthen the rural economy, the Minister pressed the need for immediately making arrangements for water in the Covid care centres.
He asked for expanding the testing scope of corona virus.
The Chief Medical Health Officer (CMHO) said 8,698 samples have been taken for testing, out of which 357 patients were found positive. There are 112 active Covid-19 cases and 241 people have recovered in the district.
He said a local polytechnic has been converted into an Isolation Centre with a set-up of a 300-bed Covid Care Centre.
