SAGES transforming edu sector in C’garh

Education is an important parameter of evaluating development in any area.

This is why Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, seeking a major transformation in the             education sector, has set up the Swami Atmanand Government English Medium School (SAGES).

An official communication said on Tuesday that Baghel had observed that talented children often miss out on opportunities because they are not able to                  communicate in English. So, he decided to open SAGES in the state.

Every parent wants his or her child to get quality education in a good English medium school but not everyone can afford the fees in private schools. The SAGES is the answer to the situation.

Schools under the scheme not only offer              quality English medium education but also focus on an all-round holistic               development of children.

The Swami Atmanand Schools have been equipped with well-furnished libraries, sports ground, practical lab and various other amenities.

The first of the schools was opened on July 3, 2020. The same year, 52 schools were opened in different cities.

Gradually, these schools gained popularity. In             2022-23, more than 276,000 applications were received for admission.

Considering the huge demand and growing            popularity of the schools, the government decided to open more Atmanand schools. Now, there are 279 schools in Chhattisgarh.

Baghel's vision is that these educational                    institutions must have               excellent facilities at par with private schools and at the same time be accessible and affordable to the                          economically weaker sections as well.
