Two safety training programmes were organised for contract workers in the Rail and Structural Mill, a statement of the Bhilai Steel Plant informed here on Saturday.
As many as 84 contract workers participated in the two programmes in which workers were apprised about various aspects of safety, mainly protection against gas, safety during material handling, safety while working at height and electrical safety.
Workers were apprised of the risks arising during various activities of their area in Rail Mill and were told about safe methods of doing those tasks. Accidents and near miss cases in the last few years in Rail Mill and the lessons learned from them were discussed.
Inaugurating the program, SR Singh, Acting General Manager, Rail Mill said that contract workers should always be alert and do their job safely.
