Fifty-eight-year-old Sadhna Dhand from the State, who is suffering from osteogenesis imperfect also known as brittle bone disease, has been honoured at a function in Delhi on Wednesday.

Dhand suffers from a condition in which her bones become extremely brittle and could be fractured even because of a minor jerk. She has suffered more than 80 fractures, stands 3.3 feet tall and has lost her hearing. However, all this could not deter Dhand from pursuing her interest–painting. She has been trained in Tanjore painting, stained glass painting, murals and making sculptures. Another woman from the Chhattisgarh was also honoured in the function in New Delhi. Rekha Thakur, first woman mechanical engineer of the State, was honoured during the function. Several other women from other States were also felicitated during the function.
