The General Administration Department (GAD) in Chhattisgarh on Saturday ordered the immediate sacking of state government employees holding fake caste certificates.
A Sarva Adivasi Samaj delegation had called on Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and sought immediate action against government employees who got employment with fake Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Other Backward Classes certificates.
The delegation also raised the issue with Industries Minister Kawasi Lakhma.
The GAD circular has been issued to all government departments, the Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Revenue Board, Bilaspur, all Divisional Commissioners, all the heads of the departments, all District Collectors and all the CEOs of the district panchayats.
It said that those whose caste certificates are found to be fake by a scrutiny committee must be terminated from service, an official communication stated.
Before the termination, the departments should file a caveat in the Chhattisgarh High Court.
The Advocate General should be asked for speedy hearing of all cases where employees have approached the High Court and no stay has been issued. Where a court stay or adjournment has been received, the case should be reviewed.
