The supporters of various ticket aspirants are continuing to storm the State BJP headquarters with slogan raising and protests becoming a routine in its premises.
On Friday, a large number of party workers from Saja Assembly segment arrived at the party headquarters while demanding a ticket for labhchand Bafna once again as their candidate for the Assembly polls. Bafna’s supporters were of the view that the Saja seat had been with the Congress for over three decades where the Congress leader of Opposition Ravindra Choubey and his family had been contesting from the seat. They stated that Bafna lost the 2008 polls by 5,000 votes but this time they are confident he would win the polls.
On the other hand, Vinod Bharti from Bilaigarh Assembly segment arrived with a dozen of his supporters while stating that the party did not offer him a ticket last time and expects to win the polls this time round in a seat which is currently with the Congress. Bharti said that he is associated with the Satnami community and has support from party workers in Bilaigarh.
There were also office bearers and workers from Hardiha Sahu Samaj who arrived in large numbers at the party’s headquarters to demand a repeat of Nandkumar Sahu as their candidate from Raipur Rural. They stated that if Sahu is not offered the ticket they would not support the party in the polls.
