Some unidentified youths lifted cash amounting to Rs5 lakh from a Cashier's bag in broad daylight from busy Ramsagarpara locaity here on Friday.
According to the police, the victim Nehrulal Pandey (43) works as a Cashier for a Transport company with its office in Ramsagarpara.
The victim had withdrawn cash amounting to Rs 5 lakh from HDFC Bank and had reached near his office at Ramayan complex. When he parked his scooter, two youths approached him and one of them asked directions to Plywood market. The victim left the scooter and moved some distance away for it while telling the address to one of the youths. In the meantime, the other person took out the cash and cheque book kept in a bag and went away, police said.
