An amount of Rs2280 crore had been distributed as interest-free loans to 8.67 lakh farmers during the current Kharif Season by the Co-operative societies in Chhattisgarh. This is 86 per cent of the target set for this season.
The State Government has set Rs2650 crore a target to be given away as interest-free agriculture loans during the Kharif Season 2015-16, officials stated. Chhattisgarh State Co-Operative Bank Chairperson Ashok Bajaj said that loans are being distributed since April 1, 2015. The last date of loan distribution is September 30, 2015. The loan distribution for the Rabi Season will start from 1 October 2015. The last date for availing of the loan facility for the Rabi season is March 31, 2016.
