A sum of Rs 7.47 crore as 'Incentive Amount' had been distributed to the 24,480 meritorious students of the families of the registered building and construction workers in fiscal 2015-16, officials informed.
Notably, the Chhattisgarh Building and Construction Workers' Board sponsored scholarship is given to the students who score more than 75 per cent marks in exams.
There is a provision of providing Rs 2000 to Rs 12,500 as 'Incentive Amount' to the meritorious students.
Students who top the Chhattisgarh Madhyamik Shiksha Mandal's X and XII standard examinations are given Rs One lakh by the Board.
There is also a provision to compensate educational fees, boarding and hostel fees in the State Government Colleges I.T.I., Engineering, Medical, law, Dental, Nursing, Polytechnic, Agriculture.
A sum of Rs 2000 as stationery expenses are also provided to the meritorious students.
