Singh, while interacting with media persons at the new Circuit House here on Monday evening said that his state-wide tour logged 8,000 kms from April 28 to May 23 this year in which his meeting with villagers made him aware of the status of implementation of various Government schemes.

While discussing Chhattisgarh’s future development plans he remarked “The State Government has planned to invest Rs 4,000 crore during the coming two-and-a-half years for electrification of all villages in Chhattisgarh.”

Notably, according to the CM, during the lok Suraj Campaign, he along with other officials had walked in villages in temperatures touching 44-45 degrees Celsius.

“Another major task we are going to undertake is providing lPG to 25 lakh BPl families with twin burner stoves at registration charge of Rs 200 only. This would save about 12 crore trees every year,” the CM informed who was accompanied by Chief Secretary Vivek Dhand, Additional Chief Secretary N Baijendra Kumar and other senior officers present in the press conference.

For effective implementation of the scheme, 600 new lPG dealers will be appointed and bottling plants shall come up in Korba, Rajnandgaon, Raigarh and Jagdalpur, he elaborated.
