The RPI Bahujan Morcha has decided to provide unconditional support to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Assembly polls. The party claims to have sizable influence among the backward class community in 23 constituencies of the State.
BJP State General Secretary Shivratan Sharma informed in a statement here that the RPI Bahujan Samaj Party in its support letter had stated that it has decided to support the party on account of the various welfare programmes launched by the the ruling BJP Government for the backward classes, tribals, Boudh community and the minorities.
He said that the workers meetings would begin from October 15 in Rajnandagon for the first phase of the Assembly polls. Thereafter the workers meetings would be held on October 16 and 17 in 17 Assembly constituencies. The rest of the meets would be held between October 19 to 24 in the remaining 72 Assembly constituencies, he said.
On rising resentment among the party workers, Sharma said that since the party had been in power for the last two terms, it was natural to have many aspirants for the tickets.
