Under the Roka-Chheka drive launched by the Chhattisgarh government, the Raipur Municipal Corporation has caught 179 stray cattle from Raipur's roads and sent them to Gauthans (cowsheds). The action had been ordered by Mayor Aijaz Dhebar and Municipal Commissioner Prabhat Malik. The drive is on in all 10 zones of the capital, said Nodal Officer for R.K. Dongre. The cattle owners have been warned not to leave their cattle on the roads. Zone Commissioners and Zone health officials were present when the owners filed affidavits promising not to repeat the mistake.
The drive will continue in all 70 wards of 10 zones in the municipal limits.
