The Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) on Wednesday launched an anti-encroachment drive outside the City Railway station and removed as many as 20 handcarts parked from the area.
On receiving complaints of encroachments made outside the Railway station, RMC Commissioner, Avneesh Kumar Sharan directed the anti-encroachment squad to launch the drive.
The squad removed and seized as many as 20 handcarts from the spot. The squad In-charge, Abhash Mishra said that the handcrafts were parked illegally by encroaching upon the Government land. The encroachments were presenting a chaotic picture of area outside the Railway station before the passengers and were also disturbing the traffic flow. The drive also helped to ease the traffic on Station road.
