The Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) has demanded funds to the tune of Rs 400 crore from the Centre for taking up an ‘underground pipeline project’ in the city.
The RMC had been planning the project considering the rise in population of the city besides many of the new regions added under its jurisdiction. The project would commence as soon as funds are approved and released by the Centre, a RMC official stated. The project would greatly solve the drinking water supply problems in various localities of the city.
