The Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) has decided to outsource the operation and maintenance of the newly constructed international standard swimming pool in the city.

“A contract would be offered for operation and maintenance of the swimming pool for a period of five years,” officials stated.

The outsourced entity who is offered the contract would generate membership and revenue and pay a share of the revenue to the RMC.

Notably, the RMC in the month of May last year had started providing membership for the newly developed international swimming pool .

On the first day, as many as 110 people had obtained the membership from a counter opened in the swimming pool building.

In the first phase, the civic body during the opening of pool had decided to offer membership for three months and charge a fee of Rs1500 for one hour swimming daily for the next three months.

Besides, a fee of Rs50 was fixed to be charged for one day entry for an hour’s swimming session from those who are not regular members.

For State, inter-state and national-level swimmers, a fee concession of 50 per cent was offered by the civic body.
