Rly admin launches drive to free lands

In a bid to get the city freed from the clutches of land-grabbers and encroachers, the Railway administration here has launched an anti-encroachment drive on Monday.

The Railway demolition squad dismantled as many as five houses encroached by some people in the Railway Colony.

Three months ago, the Railway administration had issued notices to the encroachers,  instructing them to free the land soon. However, because of monsoon season, the encroachers had requested the Railway authority for some time.

In view of the problem, the administration had given three month’s time to them and directed them to free the land within the given time period, but the encroachers did not vacate the land within the given time frame.

Taking action on the adamant encroachers, the Railway administration along with police personnel reached the spot and demolished five houses.
