The post of Mayor in the newly constituted Municipal Corporation of Risali in Durg district was on Tuesday reserved for women from Other Backward Class (OBC).
The Mayor post reservation process was held at the Indravati Bhavan (HOD Building) in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar.
Designated Officer R. Ekka said in a statement that out of the 14 Municipal Corporations in the state, the reservation process of 13 was done earlier. Only Risali was pending.
Earlier, the reservation process for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe community seats were completed.
Based on reservation rules of the Municipal Corporation Act, four seats were to be reserved for OBC category but only three were reserved until Tuesday.
