RIPA transforming villagers' lives

Published on:

Chhattisgarh’s Rural Industrial Park Scheme (RIPA) has started providing employment and self-employment opportunities to people in rural regions.

RIPA was started with the aim of promoting rural entrepreneurship and making villages the centre of production.

With this scheme, women are embracing self-reliance.

A sewing unit has been set up at a RIPA in Gram Panchayat Shyamnagar in Gariaband district. About 50 villagers are employed there.

The Women and Child Development Department has ordered 14,000 uniforms for Anganwadi children from there.

In RIPA, work is also done on handlooms, incense sticks and laundry.

The state government has arranged for basic necessities like water, electricity and land for small traders in RIPA. Supply orders from nearby cities and villages have started coming due to the good quality of the products.
