RIPA generating employment at village level

Published on:

The Chhattisgarh government has established RIPA to strengthen the rural economy and provide employment to villagers locally.

The Joint Secretary and Nodal Officer of RIPA, Dr. Gaurav Kumar Singh, on Thursday reviewed the activities conducted in the Mahatma Gandhi Rural Industrial Park (RIPA) in Temri village in Dharsiwa block of Raipur.

He instructed all officers and employees to conduct the required activities at Temri RIPA effectively.

At present, works like manufacture of herbal gulal, rangoli, flavoured juice and millet cafe are undertaken in Temri's RIPA where 50 women are employed.

A contract has been signed with Ganesha Herbal Gulal for marketing the goods produced in RIPA.

With the Rural Industrial Park operating in the village, women get employment near their homes.

Women now operate state-of-the-art machines. As a result, they produce more than 100 types of goods including paint, bricks and dona-pattal.
