The Rice millers in Chhattisgarh have been banned from sending consignments of rice outside the State without Government permission.
The millers would have to compulsorily seek permission from Director, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department before sending rice consignment outside Chhattisgarh.
The Secretary, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department in a circular has directed all the district collectors to keep strict vigil on the export of rice by the millers outside State.
In the regions where rice is sent through the Railways, the circular directed that the officials need to maintain co-ordination with the Railway officials and not allow export of rice outside Chattisgarh without official permission.
