Reservation of wards of all the civic bodies falling under Raipur district will be carried out here at ‘Shaheed Smarak Bhawan’ on Thursday.
District Collector and the District Electoral Officer, Thakur Ram Singh said that ahead of the civic body polls, reservation of the wards of Raipur and Birgavn Municipal Corporation, Gobara Navapara, Tilda Nevara and Arang Municipal Council, Abhanpur, Mana Camp, Khakhora and Kura Nagar Panchayat will be carried out under section 11 and 29 (K).
As per the schedule, reservation of the wards of RMC (70 wards) will be carried out at 11 am followed by reservation of the wards of Tilda Nevara Municipal Corporation (22 wards) at 1 pm, Gobara Navapara (21 wards) at 2.30 pm, Arang (15 wards) at 3.30 pm, Abhanpur Nagar Panchayat (15 wards) at 4 pm, Mana Camp (15 wards) at 4.30 pm, Khakhora (15 wards) at 5 pm, Kunra Nagar Panchayat (15 wards) at 5.30 pm and Birgavn Municipal Corporation (40 wards) at 6 pm.
Notably, the civic bodies’ polls are scheduled by the end of this year. The reservation for posts of mayors in different municipal corporations besides presidents of municipal councils and Nagar Panchayats of the State was carried out here at ‘Shahid Smarak Bhawan’ on September 1.
