The reservation process for the 40 wards of Birgaon Municipal Corporation (BMC) in Chhattisgarh’s Raipur district was announced on Thursday for this year's civic body polls, with 16 wards declared unreserved.
Out of 40 wards, seven wards have been reserved for unreserved (woman) and another seven wards for OBC category.
Similarly, five wards have been reserved for Scheduled Caste (including three unreserved) and two for SC (woman) category, three wards for OBC (woman) category and two wards for the Scheduled Tribes (one unreserved and one for woman).
During the reservation process, District Electoral Officer and Raipur Collector Dr. S. Bharathi Dasan and public representatives were present.
