Resentment brewing against Cong MlA in Aarang

Published on:

Hundreds of people from Aarang Assembly constituency took out a rally on Sunday and demanded that the Congress MlA Rudrakumar Guru must not be offered a ticket to re-contest the Assembly polls from Aarang.

They demanded that Guru must not be allowed to re-contest polls and somebody else must be given an opportunity who can work while keeping the sentiments of Congress workers in mind. The protestors led by Aarang Janpad member Vatan Chandrakar and other Congress party leaders  gathered at the Sapre School ground while holding placards, banners and posters in the noon hours and later marched towards Gandhi ground where they raised slogans at the venue of a meeting of the  Congress Minority Cell.

According to Chandrakar, the people of Aarang got a Congress MlA after two decades and the Congress workers worked as a team in Aarang. However, still, Guru remained inactive and did not participate in the dharnas and processions held by the party. He said that the members of Satnami Samaj have also stood up against the MlA. Chandrakar alleged that Guru could not tour many villages in any constituency during the last four-and-a-half years.

He further stated that Guru could muster only five votes in the Youth Congress polls while standing fifth in the poll rankings.‘Guru even lost the Nagar Panchayat polls’. ‘If Guru is allowed to re-contest, he would lose with not less that 20,000 votes,’ Chandrakar said.
