Chhattisgarh Congress on Friday demanded unconditional release of Bijapur Janpad Panchayat vice-president Miccha Mutaiyya who was arrested in connection with murder of former Zila Panchayat member and BJP member Ramsai Majji.
State Congress chief Bhupesh Baghel and senior party leader Satyanarayan Sharma while addressing a Press conference at ‘Congress Bhawan’ condemned the act and demanded suspension of errant police officers.
Reacting to Chief Minister Raman Singh’s statement over the murders of BJP members in Bastar region, Baghel said that the Congress believes that there is no place for murder in politics and anybody’s murder is a saddening incident.
“Chief Minister Raman Singh remembers murder of only his own party workers. About 50 people from late Mahendra Karma’s family have been slain at the hands of Naxals. The May 25, 2013, Jheeram Ghati massacre had claimed 31 lives; the people in Bastar are being continuously killed, fake encounters are happening, journalists are being killed, but the Chief Minister has failed to see this picture,”
he stated.
Referring to controversial killing of Madkam Hidme by security forces, State Congress chief said she was abducted from her house, raped and murdered but the Chief Minister did not utter a single word on the incident.
According to Baghel, Naxals had taken the responsibility of killing Ramsai Majji.
“In the pamphlets found at the spot, Maoists had mentioned that milk and curd supplied to them was poisoned and he had taken Rs 3 lakh from villagers therefore he was killed,” Baghel claimed.
