Additional Chief Secretary NK Aswal conducted the day-long visit to the district and asked the officials concerned to work in tandem for supply of pure drinking water to the people.
In a meeting with the officials of Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Aswal instructed them for a regular monitoring of Baiga dominated villages and other rural areas where water is supplied through solar pumps.
He reviewed the progress of Jal Aawardhan Yojana and instructed to conduct necessary repair works in the treatment plant under the scheme. Aswal asked the officers to deploy ITI experts in the plant for timely repair of the plant.
In the meeting, the Additional Chief Secretary said that the water level in the plant should not be less than the capacity and for which a high quality valve is required. Besides, he also asked to formulate proper working strategy in case of overflow of water from the plant.
He further took stock of the facilities available in the hostels and Ashrams of Tribal Welfare Department and instructed to complete the construction of hostels and Ashrams before the stipulated period. Aswal stressed for providing sufficient security at the Ashrams.
