Chhattisgarh State Women Commission Chairperson Dr Kiranmayi Nayak on Wednesday said strict action will be taken if a person marries a second time without getting a divorce.
She said this while hearing cases in the district headquarters. Of 20 cases, 14 were disposed of while six litigants were absent, an official communication said.
While hearing a dowry harassment case, Nayak directed a Sub Inspector to investigate the case and to get the compensation for the maintenance of the complainant and the child.
When Nayak came to know that the man is going to get married again, she said action will be taken if a second marriage takes place when the first wife has not been divorced.
