Raipur Development Authority has turned out to be a ‘white elephant’ and it is now working like private builder aiming only to draw maximum benefits from the denizens of Raipur through its scheme like Kamal Vihar, stated former Minister and Congress leader Satyanarayan Sharma addressing a press conference here on Thursday.
Sharma also demanded of holding an open house for people affected from Kamal Vihar township development scheme of the Raipur Development Authority (RDA).
He cautioned that if RDA fails in this act then people themselves would hold open house and start campaign against irregularities of RDA under the banner of ‘Nagrik Sangharsh Samiti’.
He alleged that the houses were bulldozed without paying any proper compensation and they have now been assured of being paid according to Collector guidelines after three years of commencement of Kamal Vihar scheme.
Sharma further said 400 acres of Government land including ponds and cremation grounds have been occupied under the scheme.
The former minister without naming anyone in particular said that RDA officials have continually been changing their commitments and promises over developed plots or compensation to be given to people whose lands have been acquired.
He charged, that in legal frame work there is always proper registry required for transferring of land between two parties, however RDA through a mutual agreement has taken ownership of lands.
Sharma was of view that this government agency is making profits through buyers and sellers both which is gross violation of principles.
He unveiled that RDA is offering lowest compensation to land owners while it plans to make about Rs 12000 to 29000 per square meter from these lands.
Congress leader Sharma also pointed out that same modus operandi is being adopted in Naya Raipur where Rs 5-8 lakhs are being offered for land acquisition which would then be sold at huge profits. Sharma said that RDA is proving to be proverbial ‘white elephant’.
