Chhattisgarh government has initiated the renewal of all the existing categories of ration cards for which in all village panchayat and wards of civic bodies, the camps will be held to receive the applications.
The applications can be submitted from July 15 to 29, 2019. The distribution of new cards will be held from September 1 to 8, 2019 through camps.
As per estimate, about 58.54 lakh ration cards will be renewed.
State government has rationalized the renewal process for which in single page application form the details and necessary documents have to be submitted.
The documents to accompany the applications are two photographs of family head, aadhaar card and bank account photocopy. It should be submitted at village panchayat or respective ward in urban bodies.
The application and ration card, both will be free of cost, for the card-holders. Till the new ration card is issued, the ration will be distributed through the old one. Once the holder receives the new card, he will have to surrender the old ones at their respective shops. The old ration card should not be submitted at any other place.
